Salary of Selflessness

Self. All that people care about is the self. World is stuck in an era where the distance between selfishness and selflessness is like a light year. Not all, but the portion of the population that has egotistical hearts will pose threats to the world. The power of one bad deed is fiercer than the power of 10 good deeds. Basically, when the repercussions start to appear, the bad deed will only be projected. I know some selfless souls around me, as well as the selfish ones. So, please read this if you are interested and if you belong to either of these categories! :)

Nowadays, watching or knowing about a selfless person gives us a notion and sentiment of AMAZEMENT in such a way that selflessness is almost a rare element presently. There are 2 kinds of selfless people:
1. The one who does great things for others but for namesake.
    The insincere one.
    The exhibiting one

2. The one who does things for others with the least thought about himself.
    The real selfless human.

One cannot label himself selfless. He just BECOMES it automatically due to his acts. The success of a selfless person always lies in the fact that he doesn't expect returns and he stays calm even during loss for himself. Goodness and peace showered onto others is the reward for himself. He takes the smiles of OTHERS as his ultimate treasure.

The painful truth is that selflessness is largely found when it comes to floods or viruses, and not when we live peacefully. During our good times, we never think of the suffering of the underprivileged ones. It's only during some unpleasant and untimely event that we think selfless. Of course, the bad effects of floods and viruses are being suppressed by selfless acts, thanks to those good humans, but what I say and what the world wants is that, selflessness should hit us even when there are no calamities! (I hope you got what I mean by floods and viruses).

Mother Teresa is a name answered by many of us when the question is about role models and noble personalities. We've been learning about her hard work and dedication since childhood in GK, Language and History classes but we don't completely realise that she is one among the MOST SELFLESS people in the world. We learn, get some goosebumps and say "Whoa, we need people like her!" Like, why can't we be such people too! Little do we all contemplate of us being kind-hearted.

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them".
Mother Teresa is the person who told this. Unfortunately, a thing which many of us fail at.

Anyone can be selfless. You just have to be sincere in your endeavours. Understand the value of the smile one gives when you help them. That person is never going to forget you! Just imagine you, at your own expense, buying food for some hungry and needy people, regardless of your own sufferings. They'll have prayers for you and tears down their cheeks out of happiness, due to your unexpected help. THAT happy tear-drop is your salary for being selfless!
